I smoke chicken breasts and Kruez Market sausage using my Char-Griller Grand Champ grill. I use B&B charcoal briquets in a charcoal basket. I keep the temperature of the Grand Champ at around 250f. I did not have to add charcoal during the cook. I took the chicken breasts to the internal temperature of 175f. I let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before I slicee into it. Rolling Smoke In The Oklahoma Joe's Rambler Cooking Pork Ribs
I noticed that you didn’t slather down your burger with mayo or any other cond’s, but added them jalapenos. Thats the best burger. Also saw that Yeungling Lager. You need to pour that into a glass to get the best result. Smoke on, Moe.
Thank you for watching! I added mustard to the buns before I added everything else. I gotta have jalapeños on my burger. Next time, I need to grill them. Next time, I will pour it into a glass. Cheers 🍻
This is another awesome video my man! Keep it up! You’re inspiring me to keep learning the postmaster way and to try new methods! Cheers🍻
Thank you for watching! I appreciate your support. I'm glad my videos are an inspiration to you. Barbecue shouldn't be complicated, and I try to show that in my videos and I enjoy what I do, and I hope I capture that every time I cook.
I use the vortex in my Bronco too. Works great on steaks!
Yeah, that's a great way to cook.
@@MoesBlackGoldBBQ every time I bring it up in my bbq groups I get the side eye lol
Lol, if it works, it works.
Lot of people don’t know about this method. Great video bro!
Thank you for watching! You're gonna see more people smoking with the Bronco than grilling with it. I don't blame them. It's fun to smoke with.
I never knew about that setup on mine. However, I have been grilling on mine with that basket still set up on the bottom and sitting the grate where the diffuser sits. I will say, I have only done pork steaks and ribeyes that way because I use tongs to flip since a spatula would be near impossible to use that deep in the grill.
Thank you for watching. This setup is known, but not a lot of UA-camrs have videos of them grilling with their Bronco. In the beginning, the Bronco was advertised for grilling, but more and more, you see it as a smoker. It has gotten so popular when it comes to hanging meats that grilling on it can be overlooked.
@MoesBlackGoldBBQ absolutely! I will be hanging some ribs this afternoon and finish off grilling some ribeyes! You got a great channel and are just an average humble guy like me! I appreciate you.
@k.k.52 Thank you for the support. I love what I do, and I do it in a laid-back way. I'm just enjoying my time, and I want that for my viewers as well.
I learned if you put your wood splits on the warmer plate keep it away from the firebox door seem the heat/fire comes through and that is what catches your wood splits on fire.
Thank you for watching! Thanks for the advice.
What kettle grill do you recommend im leaning towards the oklahoma joe kettle since its on sale or a weber performer off marketplace for $250 any recommendations?
I have the Oklahoma Joe's Blackjack Kettle, and though I don't regret buying it, it has become my least favorite grill. Due to the design of the bottom vent of the Blackjack Kettle, air comes into the Kettle even when it is closed. It doesn't allow me to control at lower temps. To get lower temps, I have to use small amounts of charcoal and add a few during the cook. Any type of weber kettle will be your best option. Any day of the week, I will choose my Weber Kettle over my Oklahoma Joe's Blackjack Kettle. The weber kettle can do no wrong.
@@MoesBlackGoldBBQ Alright ill order a weber kettle thank you! just got into grilling
@Mouse-mz2uw You're welcome. You will have a blast with the Weber Kettle. Their is so much you can do with it.
@@MoesBlackGoldBBQ what about the napoleon PRO22
@Mouse-mz2uw I personally can't tell you if that is a good smoker compared to the weber kettle. My answer for now will be the weber kettle, but you can do research on that type of grill.
Keep up the good work Moe. Hope you had a good Father's Day. P.S. got thr bronco and made some smackin beef rib for father's day
Thank you for watching! My father's day was good. Believe it or not, I did not cook, lol. I took it easy on that day. Tell me how the beef rib cook went.
It went good it was the first cook on it, so it's a learning curve. Cook some beef short ribs 8 1/2 hour cook. Wish I could send you a Pic but not on UA-cam. The bronco is the orange one had a little scratch on it, got a hold of Home Depot they took 2 hundred off so I got it for $159
You got a deal! And it's the Orange Bronco. That's a beautiful color. I bought mine when they first came out, and they were only in black.
Is that the pro charcoal basket? I bought the 17lb basket for long cooks like briskets etc
It is not the Pro basket. This regular basket and B&B charcoal briquets get me well over 20 hours with one full basket.
Where i can found tose L hangers.
At Oklahoma Joe's website.
I love watching these videos, just a man and his smoker. Harmony.
Thank you for watching. I love cooking and I enjoy every minute of it.
Have you thought about getting a chimney and lighting it under the chimney to get the coals going?
I have a chimney. I lit it up this way to show how the charcoal starter works.
@@MoesBlackGoldBBQ Nice! I use Jealous Devil lump & briquettes and the boom firestarters are killer considering I used to try and light the chimney with old newspapers like I do with Kingsford briquettes
Question for you on your Bronco. Do you clean the inside? I have a syrupy looking liquid at the bottom that I cleaned up, but it made me think about the rest of the smoker. What/how often do you clean on your Bronco to keep it rolling?
I can't make up my mind to buy either the Oklahoma long horn smoker or a smoke barrel. What do you prefer and why?
I have the Oklahoma Joe's Highland, which is the smaller version of the Long Horn. I love that smoker. If you want to cook with fire, then buy the Long Horn. But if you want to grill, smoke, and hang your meats, then buy the Bronco. I will say that with my Highland Smoker, it was not perfect out of the box. It took some time and small mods to figure out how to run the Highland Smoker. But with the Bronco, once you put it together, it is ready to go. Once you figure out how to adjust for the temps you want and which brand charcoal or lump works best for your Bronco, then you have it all figured out. The Bronco is a set it and forget. I can use B&B briquets and get more than 20 plus hours of cooking time with one full basket. I still use my Highland smoker, and I love it, but I get more enjoyment out of using my Bronco. So for me, it would be the Bronco.
Little less charcoal on that snake and it’ll keep the temp lower, that’s quite a bit of charcoal tbh
It wouldn't matter because of the flaw the Blackjack has. The bottom vent will not shut completely. It allows air in no matter how you use your charcoal. Temps will get high.
tried cowboy briquets about 3 years ago and got great burn time food tasted good to . and the price is very decent ! take care Moe :)
I've just recently started using them, and I am impressed. I wonder if the lump Cowboy is as good as the briquets.
Cowboy Brand Briquettes is my go to also. Love the flavor it produces. Wal-Mart sells the two-twenty pound bags for $17.99.
I just started using them, and I wish I had started sooner. I am impressed by them.
I purchased Cowboy brand last year and I also think they do a good job. Price is also right for them. Good test.
Thank you for watching. I am impressed by the charcoal. Doing 3 cooking and using the same charcoal I poured for the first cook is impressive. Not once did I have to add charcoal doing 3 cooks. I should have calculated the total time of the 3 cooks.
I have the Bronco and use Thermoworks Billows to control my temps and it is such an awesome setup.
I've never used that accessory.
I bought this and when I used it for a brisket that was wrapped it wouldn't connect because the foil was blocking the sensors. I talked to customer service with no help. I'm still looking for one that works when the meat is wrapped.
That's a bummer. I haven't tried it yet when wrapping with foil. Did you wrap the foil over the meat thermometer, or did you stick the meat thermometer through the foil?
@@MoesBlackGoldBBQ I wrapped the meat with the thermometer in it under the foil.
Great review! I just purchased my first weber kettle so this is something I may need to look into.
Thank you for watching! I have used it a total of 3 times, and it has not disappointed me. I plan on uploading the 3rd cook using the charcoal basket soon.
I got the 2 for 1 deal on the newer model currently on sale but you can’t beat free!
Free is better!
Just got my okj highland and seasoned it. I wanna do a brisket. This video taught me so much!! Thank you!!!
You're welcome. Let me know how the brisket cool goes.
Don’t miss the opportunity to collect, save and when you have enough collected over time, render the trimmed fat to tallow!
Oh yeah. I have done just that.
Do you know about a temp system with a blower for the bronco. I am interest to have one.
I have seen it. It's a good way to keep and maintain temps. It does all the work.
Do you know where you can buy it.
@edwardmiskotten2380 I have seen them on Amazon.
I have a wired dual probe unit. I use one for the meat and the other to make sure my beer is a steady 40 degrees. I was wondering if you were going to taste the chicken at the end and you came through.
I need to get some of those
I am satisfied with it. I can't wait to use it again.
now at HD
🍺🎸🤘
Thank you!
These are interesting because I was disappointed with their lump. You get maybe a half of a bag of nice lump and the rest is tiny pieces.
I have yet to try their lump. I plan on to. I'm getting great results with their briquets.
B&B makes a really good briquette that is twice as big as those...
I love using B&B. So far they are the best that I have used with the Bronco.
🍺🎸✌️
Thank you for watching!
What’s the longest you smoked on it before adding more charcoal?
20 hours using B&B charcoal briquets.
@@MoesBlackGoldBBQ I’m contemplating on getting either this grill or the Kamala joe Acorn. Which grill do you recommend. Also when using charcoal, how do you avoid getting that dirty smoke do the smoke ain’t too strong.
You’ve helped me sooooo much. Thank you
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
i've been using the cowboy briquets from walmart , two 20lb bags sold together so 40 pounds for $17 . i've gotten over 10 hours easily on the regular basket on my bronco and i've gone 16 hours on the large basket and shut it down because i was done but i'm sure i could have gone a few more hours . i usually cook slow @ 225-250 . thanks and take care Moe :)
Thank you for watching, and you also take care. The Cowboy briquets are good. I used them for the first time in my Weber Kettle, and I was impressed. Soon, I will try it in my Bronco.
I’ve only ever used their lump charcoal, never knew they made briquettes. I’d prefer the briquettes, me thinks. But I do like Kingsford. Thanks for the vid!
You're welcome, and thank you for watching. The briquets did a good job. I plan on using them again.
Just ordered the bronco. Keep up the good work Moe
Thank you! Let me know how your first cook goes.
Will do.
The Bronco is so much fun to cook on. It is very versatile. It also holds temp pretty well.
@k.k.52 it is fun. It's a complete package.
A prime brisket under 40$ 😢. I want to go back
I agree. Prices just haven't been the same.
Smoke on, Moe.
Thank you, and smoke on!
Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!
I use the Royal Oak Lump charcoal sometimes for certain cooks. Burns a little hotter and faster . I will try the larger size charcoal sometime but I use kingsford most of the time. I like the lump charcoal with cherrywood or applewood for grilled salmon or pork. Also the lump is good for grilling! Hotter, but burns up faster. Soaking the cherry or apple chunks overnight really helps.
I gotta try the Royal Oak lump. I'm all about finding what charcoal or lump works the best with the Bronco when it comes to long cooks.
Thanks for the review. I have a Bronco I bought about a year ago - partially due to your channel. I made a couple of modifications. The Bronco Pro charcoal basket fits the Bronco for longer cook. It lasts over 12 hours. Another modification is to buy a second shelf - then the cover fits well. Both from the Oklahoma Joe website.
You're welcome! I'm glad my channel helped with you deciding on buying your Bronco. I had thought about buying the Bronco Pro charcoal basket, but since I can get 20-plus hours out of some charcoal, I opted not to buy it. The second shelf is a must. It helps out so much. I'm glad I bought one.
☀️ P r o m o S M
I was looking at this charcoal basket for my kettle, do you think the quality is decent and will last a few years?
It feels like good quality. It looks well put together. I can see it lasting a few years.
@@MoesBlackGoldBBQ Thx for the reply, do you feel too much ash collects in the basket?
@yesitsmario88 From observing the basket of the cook, I would say half of the ashes fell to the bottom of the kettle, and the other half remained in the basket. When I shook the basket, ashes fell through. Now, even with the ashes in the basket, it did not cause any problems.
Where did you find the "clips" to raise the cooking grate?
The clips come from a Weber kettle accessory called Skyflame Stainless Steel Charcoal Chamber& Ceramic Heat Deflector. I bought it off Amazon.
Wood on top of coals
I know. This was an experiment that I read a lot about online. I thought I'd try it out.
I need one for my 14” Weber Kettle😀
Moe, thanks for the review, looking to pick up a Weber kettle, I have a Bronco and Weber gas grill, need to add to the assortment.
Thank you for watching! You will love the Kettle. It can do it all.
